My niece and I are putting together family photos for albums we're producing for Christmas so I have been seeing pictures of myself from years before and strangely, I look younger now. Why, I wondered, especially since I was "smaller" then, flatter tummy, no back fat, etc! LOL. A few minutes of reflection brought at least five factors that you too, may find helpful.
My Fave Five
- 1. Lighten Up - Taking life and ourselves so seriously can wear on our face and our health. You've heard the sayings, pick one. "Don't sweat the small stuff", "Too blessed to be stressed", etc.
- 2. Give More and Spend Less - It is not unusual for us to make an impulse buy or even think we can't live without something we must buy only to regret it or not be interested in it later. Yet when we give from the heart to others it does something special to our insides.
- 3. Move - Get your cute little (or not so little) buns in gear. Take a walk, an exercise class, hit the ON Demand button of your cable remote and take a stretching, Pilate's, yoga or Funky Moves class for free in the privacy of your living room. When you exercise and sweat, you release endorphins, the "feel good" hormones. Your skin clears up, the ideas flow, some of our problems get resolutions, you name it. Its good for you. Don't forget to drink your water.
- 4. Forgive - We can find it difficult to forgive someone who hurt us especially if we were victimized, yet the unforgiveness destroys us not them. Talk to a friend, your pastor, family or a counselor. Find a way to move on, maybe not because they deserve it, but because you do!
- 5. Laugh - at yourself, a silly movie, your kids, your thighs. Remember that laughter is the music of the heart! Do it everyday!
Smooches and Stilettos!

I am looking for a new makeup for lips & eyes (for day & night). I don't wear blush. What do you suggest?
Turtle Love (love the name by the way), I have had some great success with lots of brands. I think you need to look at some basics first.
With any cosmetic shopping trip, do your homework. Assess (or have assessed) any "issues" you may have. What do I mean? Are your lips dry, chapped, discolored? Do you want a sheer, shiny sexy look or a strong full color pout? Once you know what. then you can shop for the "it". With eyes, many of us have oily eyelids which create disappointment midday when the eyeshadow we tested in the boutique is creased or completely faded. You'd need an eyeshadow base to ensure all day color. Then check out the brands that have the colors/formulas you want. One of my personal faves is definitely M.A.C.(Nordstrom, M.A.C. stores and some Macy's). Whatever is in the pot is what shows up on the face. Ok Glamour Girl (or Glamour Turtle)have fun and send us a before and after!
